There was clearly a typo in the Glossary section of As I Was Crossing Boston Common because it said this: (XEN-oh-pus) and that's a duh (ZEN-oh-pus)...
I corrected that when I typed it. But on the off-chance it was some odd bird pronunciation I went to dictionary.com. I love the feature where you can hear a voice pronounce the word...
The guy who says "xenopus" is clearly hot for me. When he pronounced it, he added a soupcon of innuendo. I think he was there doing it live. Just for me.
Oddly enough, he had a trace of what sounds like a well-buried Russian accent.
So that makes him even hotter.
