The Novelist and Poet Dana Killmeyer Started Out My New Year...

last year right. If I remember correctly, it was her first novel (with its resonance of Jane Bowles for me!) I was reading and enjoying as 2007 became 2008.

She just missed me at the New Year this time, but is sending some new fruits-- poetry, I believe, and did she say a novel too?!.

I think of Che Elias and Dana Killmeyer as the strange fused halves of a great oracular creature. Sometimes each speaks in his or her own voice, sometimes they speak as one, and sometimes an otherworldly voice comes out of both of them.

They both have an email style I would describe as Pythian.

I love this about them!

For example, here is a strange poem Dana wrote back to me last night in response to a series of mundane lines I had dashed off in an email to her....I asked if I could post it here as a poem...I was Che-yabbing...and she Che-yabbed back...
