Case 1: Agouti Traumatized by Agoraphobia (from A Bestiary, a Hospital)

This poor Agouti, after sudden situations alters breath.
Sertraline may calm his tawny fear disorder
or possibly spatial anxiety medicine
may help or the animal may not even be able
to toe a banana.

Hysterical criteria clusters account
for some social Panic avoidances
in Agoutis. Some are not given
to even approach elevators.

Vocationally disastrous.

Paroxetine meditation with the legs
may lead to counter-factual galloping
in urban settings.

Again not good.

Adverse counter-factual people
like birds will irritate
agoraphic Agoutis. These
beasts are contraindicated.

It is the therapist's duty
to attempt to reuptake America,
and maybe watch the Agouti eating
a sandwich without speaking,
to see how long before the Agouti craves
a wooded area for a panic attack.

Maybe try an exercise with an orange
in the Agouti's burrows,
and have the Agouti visualize
a bus the Agouti is getting on.

Explain that the Agouti may imagine
the bus populated wholly by friends
or ambiguously tolerant people
the Agouti knows.

If windows or arms are broken
during this exercise, retrace steps.

Explain the attack train theory
to the Agouti to minimize tension,
and feel its benzodiazepine Heartbeat
as though you were guided by glimmers
of a compassion. Rub hind feet.

Talk out the overwhelming Spatial Presence,
this ridiculous glut of space
alloted to organisms. Return
mentally to the savannahs
where the early grasses blow
and there are no white people.

Render the therapeutic space
a savannah-like setting.

Possibly attempt Agouti yoga
relaxation techniques: tell
the patient to visualize selective people
without pigs' teeth, hairless
humans that want Agouti
warmth and cuddle.

Visualize the SSRI process
as a quiet oceanfront property
that has been paid off.

Have the Agouti repeat the calming mantra,
"My Habitat, My Marketplace"
over and over via fluoxetine.

It's okay to have feed leaves present

but encourage healthy exercise
and positive rechanneling
into behaviors which do not

resemble Fleeing, even if they clearly are.
