Here is a word game I invented today I call "Tenning Fours." Think of a word, preferably six letters or more. Take the last four letters of that word and give another word that begins with those. Repeat the process with the last four letters of that word. Get to ten.
There can be some overlap of letters used. See the chain below. (Or to make it more difficult, add the constraint that there cannot be overlap.)
Compound words are fine but think Scrabble rules. No proper nouns or capitalized words, brand names, etc. Hyphenated words are okay if not excluded for the reasons just mentioned. No phrases or split compounds.
Here's an example of a successful chain.
1. argument
2. menthol
3. tholes
4. olestra
5. straggling
6. lingering
7. ringworm
8. worming
9. minging
10. gingham
If any readers think they can solve this one, just post your solution in the comment box here.
Your solution may well differ from mine, but I do have a solution for this one.
I'll leave select words that I used in my solution in place in case you want to "aim" for them.
1. caustic
2.
3.
4.
5. hoodias*
6.
7. tolerant
8.
9.
10. lingam
Note: I know Hoodia (capitalized) is also the genus name of the plant referenced commonly as hoodia. I found numerous examples where the herb is now referred to simply as "hoodia"--as the familiar and non-scientific name which has come into vogue for this plant.

Oooh. A word challenge. You know I have a weakness for these sorts of things.
I have a weakness for "those sorts of things."
That's why I stay away from "those sorts of things."
"Those sorts of things" are not as spiritually rewarding as "these sorts of things."
I think I just like "sorts of things" in general.
It's fucking ridiculously windy here today. And I bet there too.
My trash cans are off on a bender again.
I will spend a half hour looking for them.
I should weight them down with cinder blocks or Proust volumes or something I suppose.
