Hi Steve Tills

I'm in an "afraid of humans" mode lately.

But wanted to say "hi" since you popped up on the screen.

I have good thoughts about you and your writing so I'm not afraid.

Cheers.

Dear William,

Just now saw this note of yours (haven't been reading around for about a week -- the mode I'm in is fragile; I'm afraid I'll lose it if I "go outside" at the moment). We can back-channel, though. I'll try to shoot you an e-mail later today from work. Would like to send ya a copy of my RUGH STUFF getting printed in the next week, too. Cheers back to you, and gratitude for the good cheer you sent, also. Just the right sort of thing I needed at the moment, actually. :)

Hi Steve,

Glad to hear I said the right thing at a difficult moment.

I don't always have that gift but which I did.

You can feel free to send your book(very kind of you) and I will enjoy reading it down the line, but right now I am in a strange writing mode where I am indulging myself so I probably won't get to it for a while and I say that so it's clear up front, but want to specify I'm NOT saying that in a snotty diva way or as some sort of hidden snub. It's just that I have several book projects that are telling me to give them my full attention and in the past I end up talking about all the other great work out there and lose sight of any focus on my own writing.

So with that caveat in place (not sure if you are looking for reviews, in which case I would be the wrong person at this point in time) if you want to send feel free to email me and I will give you my addreses.

I trust you will understand as you've been writing and publishing for many years, so you know the phases and the vulnerabilities, I'm sure.

Oh no, not looking for reviews at all, nor expecting you to read it any time soon (or maybe ever, Ha!).

No, W.B., just wanting to send it because I appreciate ya and look forward to having more correspondence down the line, and because I remember your sending poems to me for Black Spring a few years back and I don't know if I answered you, having dropped the ball and having had to take care of urgent personal matters and such for a few years so was quite erratic, which isn't a way that I like to be.

Anyways, Hello, and look forward to more notes when you/I have time and want.

Ciao, Steve :)

Sounds good, Steve.

You probably have a better memory than I do at this point, because I don't remember that but trust you're right.

But then I haven't sent anything out since moving here and that's over four years and at the apartment where I lived last I only did very infrequently, so you're probably talking seven years back or more.

I'm getting old.

But we have the longevous curse in my family (the woman more than the men but some of the men).

So I'll pretend I haven't even rounded the halfway corner yet.

I'd like to stick around for the flying monkeys and the rest.
