Matt Cozart Started This. Did Peter Send This to You, Matt? LOL...

Matt used "mondegreen" in a poem. That was like the second time I had seen mondegreen in my life and the other time was in a reference work, not in actual usage.

Then Peter riffed on Matt's usage in one of his Valentines on his site (see my blogroll for DID I MISS A DAY?)

Then somebody revealed there is a Mondegreen society ("sort of") and Peter sent it to me in an email.

Anyway, I thought this was really funny.

So If you want to get in on the mondegreen thang, here's your chance....

Subject: [Did I Miss A Day?] New comment on BREAKFAST VALENTINE.

Keith has left a new comment on your post "BREAKFAST VALENTINE":

Hi Peter (and William),

I belong to a mondegreen society. Sort of.

It started with a book centering on a mondegreen: "Gesundheit whistle" (a whistle to acknowledge a sneeze) misheard as "Gazoon High Twizzle." See an animation of the Gazoon High Twizzle here.

That page is within a larger site called MandyGreenProject.com, named after the book's author, Mandy Green, whose name is a mondegreen of "mondegreen."

For one thing, we're trying to attract attention from others named Mandy Green, so please tell every Mandy Green you know about this.

Hope you like the site. I'll add you to my tootsie roll.
