I just discovered AMPOP on YouTube...what a great band! Their Wikipedia article is very amusing to read. It says their one supporter outside of Iceland was John Peel (what a great supporter to have if you only get one!) They get a lot of airplay in Iceland and are starting to break through here but are still way under the radar, apparently. They used to sound more like Radiohead. Ampop initially stood for ambient pop but if you listen to these tracks you'll see they moved in a new direction the past few years. Here's a sampler...
