That compiler site drew that from the Prison Planet site which is the creation of Alex Jones. See his Wiki article if you want an interesting read. I don't share a belief in the conspiracy theories Jones articulates and I'm certainly no "paleoconservative," as he describes himself. I'm only linking to that for the information on the Iceland riots. The article, brief as it is, is saturated with alarmist hotbuttons that I don't feel a need to push.

Jones is a man who knows how to push the media around. Read about his erstwhile proposal to rebuild the compound at Waco.

I think I probably lean towards his view about how the government handled Waco. The Documentary Channel runs an excellent documentary on that debacle quite frequently.

Interesting that "top Russian analysts" predict the same thing I thought and blogged about a short while back: the feeling that the United States will (ugh!) eventually break up into smaller units.

I said that really as a sort of dark joke.

I think we are still pretty culturally (and obviously linguistically) unified, so I don't really believe that will happen.

We don't have as many wedges (historically, culturally, linguistically, relgiously) between our constituent units as those national states had.

I think that's Russian analysts wishing it would happen here. The misery loves company thing.

But I do believe about the rioting. I think we're one step away from that and depending on the economy's performance or lack of it, that could easily happen overnight. And probably militias will jump in then.

I could easily see militias shutting down congresses and economic entities that are deemed to be engaging in terroristic activities against the citizens of this country.

And then there comes that Delacroix moment.

When the National Guard sent to shut down the militias start to "go over."

Then you live in interesting times.

And remember: when someone says "May you live in interesting times" to you that it's a curse lol.

I'm not trying to sound like "one of those nutjobs."

But you know Jenny Holzer wasn't lying when she said that.

It so was.

Let's hope Obama turns out to be a Lincoln.

Minus the assassination I mean.

Because I think we need one.
