I Can't Resist the Constructivist Aesthetic

Well, I can't when it's offered cheap.

This retired IKEA lamp is rather ugly, but I couldn't resist its homage to the constructivist aesthetic. It's a design retired some eight years ago, and I've never even seen it before. Since it was only thirteen bucks and change--and in pretty great condition and works--I went for it.

I was looking for another IKEA duvet cover, but couldn't find any prettier than the one I have on the bed now.

But I was struck by how gay this particularly ugly duvet cover is...okay, I guess it's meant to be unisex and to rip off Keith Haring in a "subtle" way.

I think it's pretty safe to "rip off" Keith Haring since you can't really copyright a sense of line, but maybe they were trying to insert a respectful distance.

I think I would have preferred the Haring.

I love that Haring Warhol mouse the odd toy dealers sell online.

I've almost bought one of them about a dozen times.

But.
