I called Lee at work to bug him and ask him to bring me a warm sandwich home in the morning.
It's cold. A sandwich should make a statement about warmth.
Plus I wanted to be a pain in the ass.
He told me out of the blue did you know that you can't get a cold in Antarctica.
I think I was supposed to imagine a single person standing in Antarctica, with no viruses waiting around for anybody.
But who goes to Antarctica alone?
And what about the hypothermia, I asked.
True, he said.
I think it's cute when kids spell Antarctica Antartica.
Antartica looks more like a magical herb or medicine.
It's like the thing with the lie-berry.
The lie-berry has all the books in it.
I looked at a little photo album I didn't realize was in that drawer.
It was under a stethoscope.
What am I doing with a stethoscope.
So many things are so wrong in this house.
