I don't know who you are, but I have this conviction that I should tell you that you should commandeer something today. Today should be a day of strong commandeering. It is a Monday morning in America and many other countries, so that makes the case for commandeering even stronger. Although, you could commandeer later in the afternoon or even in the evening if you feel you need to "work up to it" a little. But I have faith you will achieve this. You WILL COMMANDEER. And you know what? You will be grateful for it later. You might even want to thank me for telling you to do this today. Remember: the Ancient Egyptians had no word for "freedom," so slavery just seemed to make sense.
And when was the last time you remembered that commandeer is a word in the English language.
I bet it's been a while. I bet you were watching a movie late at night. And it involved the old types of ships. The ones with sails and sailors dressed funny and sort of gay, right?
Maybe Mel Gibson was in that movie.
And that's the last time you heard the word commandeer, I bet.
But you're hearing it now.
Now is the time.
Don't worry about court martials or things like that. That only happens in those old movies.
The worst that could happen is a whisper at the water cooler or some burned lasagna.
Trust me on this.
You were born to commandeer.
It might even get to the point where, when someone asks you what "you do," you will respond without hesitation, and with a great deal of pride: "Me? That's easy. I commandeer."
