a couple things, but the funniest one was this....
The top of the Matterhorn is Africa and the part below is Europe. Apparently, there was a continental mosh pit at one time.
Thank You, History Channel or one of those edumacational ones.
Also, I already knew we were just between Ice Ages for the nonce, but I never really saw the "up" side of global warming...we might postpone the next Ice Age until about 15,000 years from now instead of the usual 10,000 years!
Go greenhouse effect!!
I thought it was really neat when they showed the glacial scoriations on rocks in New York's Central Park and explained that the glaciers that had come through in the last Ice Age were twice the height of the Empire State Building.
Next time Manhattan will simply be scraped down like a bone. I mean in the next Ice Age.
Then, much later, a new sort of Pangaea will form and New York will be smooshed up into Europe to form a new mountain range.
So think about that when you bemoan what you're paying for that dinky piece of property you inhabit in NYC.
In a few thousand years, it's going to be an ice cube.
Then later it will be a mountain peak where some goat-spider-octopus hybrid will probably be croaking and churning out disgusting babies.
