I Meant to Say Thank You

to Jennifer Hill and Dan Waber for including me in their really readworthy anthology, poem, home (An Anthology of Ars Poetica).

I'm honored to be here among so many poets whose work I have admired for years, and many other poets who are new to me but whose poems here make me want to search out their books.

In the former category are Mairead Byrne, Del Ray Cross, Craig Czury, Dan Featherston, Paul Hoover, Lyn Lifshin, Barry Schwabsky, Eileen Tabios, Heather Thomas and many others.

I was just enjoying poems by Susanne Dyckman, Annie Finch, Halvard Johnson (very funny poem), and Priscila Uppal, along with many others.

I love being anthologized.

Hint, hint.

Because I'm lazy. I don't have to do anything.

It's so terrible that I stayed in the hammock while these two wonderful editors made this wonderful book.

Their minds and their hands were busy, busy.

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

My back hurt.

Like Odysseus tied to the mast.

Really. It did.

Well, my mother believes me.

Thanks, Jennifer and Dan!

Lovely book.

My bathtub says, "Bring it back!
