often sounds Germanic to me. I think that's the strange, offputting art element that removes them from being a pop band. I think I remember correctly what church the boys went to (and met in). And I'm guessing there's a tradition there that gave Schelzel's songwriting gifts those German musical elements that are so out-of-place in pop music. And delightful for that very reason.
