I am in the process of overhauling my blog.
I want to redo all my linkage at right (my own writings, I mean) and draft things and get some mss. in order.
I started today with Slutonomics, which is the book with the subtitle (Sapphics), whose original title was Sappho Online.
I was amused to look at these poems after almost a year had passed, give or take a few months.
I went in and did mass deletions and touched up about a third of the nearly three hundred mostly very small poems (some one liners) I kept for this current draft/cut.
I generally like most of these, but I like that I have that many for someone to choose say one hundred or so of these for a book. I should try to place some of these with mags and then shop them around for a publisher.
Holler if you want to do a book. It would be a great day for magic rainbows and unicorns to fall from Heaven, even if I pulled a groin muscle catching them.
I was laughing as I read some of these, because they seemed the natural outgrowth of that period last year.
The poems clearly had a great friendship with alcohol, and this makes me smile (but also mutter a prayer of thanks under my breath that my head didn't end up firmly lodged in the windshield of the computer screen.) Although, actually it did.
But I had some Scotch tape in a drawer.
I don't miss chat rooms. But they did make for fun zoological expeditions...
Old men online,
hungry ghosts wandering
from chat to chat
seeking the alms of pussy
I think the book does a pretty good job of capturing the habitat, the flora and fauna online.
And Slutonomics pretty much sums it up.
Now I am chaste. Holy. My plumage unruffled.
This is why I look like I have cancer most days.
Alcohol is a wonderful, dashing cape.
I think you're supposed to wear it to your funeral.
If you take it off early, you lose all your magic powers.
True story.
True sorry.
If you want to see this hot mess, go here: But only read down to where it says "Manuscript ends here" or something gay like that. Below that is the earlier version.
