I'm going to continue adding clips to YouTube as a thinking place for the form of a film project I've had in my mind since I started making YouTube videos.
I'm going to have to film some thrift stores out of state too. I love the Jersey ones because as you get closer to the ocean you get a lot of oceanic shit in thrift stores which comes down out of the old attics. Same deal with New England, to an even greater degree.
I'm not sure, but I'm going to probably incorporate aspects of the "mental health" industry into the film too, since I'm also engaged in that funny "process." I'm trying to coax people into appearing on camera but so far my therapist would only let me shoot his feet. I thought that was funny. I like that footage, because we're talking and his feet look so uncomfortable being filmed. ;-)
These clips are going to ultimately be edited into a full-length film called A Thrift Store Kind of Life (working title for now, anyway). Sort of about the collage of remainders that a culture creates in the thrift store "biome," which could be visualized as sort of a culture's intertidal. The intertidal is very important. Lose it and watch what happens to the land.
I think I will get out the quality movie camera I dropped a bundle on back when I still had the cash. And find that good editing program that also cost quite a bit and download it on this computer. Because the freeware I've been playing with to learn the editing process leave a LOT to be desired lol.
So this will probably take about a year before I have enough footage to edit it and more importantly the skills to edit it into a full-length docu confessional thingie.
It will probably end up being a total collage with intercuts of xtranomral films and other stuff all thrown in. I like the alternation of silent clips with dialogued clips too.
